Leadership & Training

Leadership Development

Leadership development has always been one of SISEU’s top priorities. SISEU firmly believes that by equipping the branch officials with the relevant professional knowledge, leadership competencies and functional skills, we will be able to serve the members better. Our focus on Leadership Development is on Education and Training.
In achieving the above, the Leadership & Training Committee has organised or jointly organised with Ong Teng Cheong Institute of Labour Studies (OTCILS), a series of courses to further enhance our branch officials’ knowledge and know-how to transform our workforce into one that is highly skilled and flexible. This is congruent with the key objective of the labour movement for the coming years.

Objectives
To equip our leaders with the necessary training and skills so that they can play their roles effectively and bring the union to greater heights.
To sustain and improve our members’ employability through continuous skills training and upgrading via the numerous courses sponsored by the Union, which will in turn advance our members’ economic and social status.
To organise or jointly organise with other NTUC departments such as Ong Teng Cheong Institute Of Labour Studies, Industrial Relations Department, Leadership Development Department etc, seminars, forums and dialogue sessions to keep branch leaders abreast of current issues and stay ahead.
To organise seminars for union-management participation to enhance better labour management relations.
To encourage and assist our members’ children to excel in their studies and further their education through scholarships, bursaries and education grant.
