| Who Are Eligible To Join The Union? |

Who can be a union member? |
| |
Regardless of job or designation, Union Membership is open to all working people above 16 years of age (except for personnel in MINDEF, SAF, Police, Civil Defence). This includes professionals, too! |

What is the difference between Ordinary and General Branch Membership? |

The Union represents Ordinary members in wage negotiations and workplace issues. General Branch members do not have such representation rights. However, they enjoy the same social benefits, e.g. NTUC FairPrice rebates, NTUC Link Card, chalets, access to Golf privileges and NTUC Club facilities. |

How will I know which category of membership will I join? |

You will join as a GB member if (a) there is no union in your work place; or (b) you are in a non-bargainable position. |

Which Union do I join? |

Please let us know the nature of your company's business and we will let you know which of the 65 industrial unions affiliated to the NTUC you can join. |

Can executives join? |
| |
Yes, executives may join as members.
If your company is not unionised, you may join as a General Branch member. However, if your company is unionised, you may wish to contact the respective Industrial Relations Officer in charge of the branch union in your company to find out if you could join the rank and file union for limited representation, or if you should join as a General Branch member. |

What is the subscription rate? |

Payment of membership is made through Inter-bank GIRO monthly. The current subscription rate is $9 per month, plus an annual contribution of $9 to National Trades Union Congress. |
