    Progressive Wage Model

The Progressive Wage Model (PWM) is a model that centers around helping workers earn better wage through skills upgrading and productivity. At the same time, PWM also helps companies to attract, retain and make better use of every worker. Another plus point, the PWM model works for all workers: from the low wage worker to Professionals, Managers and Executives (PMEs) in a wide spectrum of industries.

There are four key components in PWM: salary progression; skills upgrading; career advancement; and productivity improvement.

Why should companies embark on PWM?

Companies stand to benefit when they adopt the PWM concept, helping them to map out a clear progression path for their workers to upskill and upgrade. Together with a transparent and fair performance appraisal system, PWM aims to empower companies to identify gaps in the areas of wages, skills, productivity and career progression. With the identification of the gaps, PWM allows companies to better make use of manpower with the manpower crunch today, as well as ensure competitive wages that commensurate with larger job scopes and high productivity levels. With the model, companies will also be able to invest and have a better skilled workforce, thereby increasing productivity and sustaining wage increase.
